After the voter's id card was replaced with the Ghana Card, nationwide SIM card re-registration became mandatory for all Ghanaians.
The registration deadline was originally set for March 31, 2022, but numerous requests from people who have yet to receive their Ghana Cards compelled The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation to extend the registration deadline to July 31, 2022.
"As a result, the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation has extended the deadline for registering Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards to July 31, 2022." a section of the statement was read.
